Intricate patterns demonstrate the interconnectedness between us and the urban environment. The different triangles represent the various communities within a city. I like to use vibrant colors because they appeal to my inner child, I like to have fun and bright colors catch people’s eyes. The colours also represents summertime for me. I love to experiment. The colours draw people into the work and then you can start to have a conversation about urban living and what that means for us and the planet that we are living on. What we can do to be more sustainable right now and into the future if we want our human habitat to survive.
Each work I create with paper is unique. I cut the paper with scissors and use a glue stick to attach the lines, triangles and rectangles individually onto a large pink colored card. Lines are stuck over each other to create layers, giving the work a depth. Imperfection is what makes us human, hence the work is cut by hand.
