Urban Connections - Mixed media
Life is often chaotic but through the chaos we can see the light. Seeing joy and connections in community. Being together and enjoying what we have.
The different colors represent the various communities, urban gardens, roads and dwellings that make up a city. I chose to mainly use blue for this work because it represents springtime for me and also it conveys a sense of being trustworthy, dependable and committed. It’s the colour of the sky on a clear day, a calming influence. I then juxtaposed different hues and colours to represent the hustle and busyness of a big metropolis.
Each work I create using paper and paint is unique. Imperfection is what makes us human, hence the work is cut by hand. Intricate patterns demonstrate the interconnectedness between ourselves and the urban environment.
Paper. Paint. Photography have gone into creating this print. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist. With a limited print run of only 500.
Two print size options 11 x 14 inches (27.9 x 35.5 cm) and 16 x 20 inches( 40 x 50cm).
